Our heroes all arrived at the Oasis in Al-Khazahm. Lucky was brought to the VIP room of the club where he was greeted by couch-mimics and a very upset Persephone.
Lucky was questioned about a loan he had taken from "the guild" on the promise that he and his adventuring party were to slay Doniathon. "The guild", revealed to be the Thieves' Guild, is owed quite the debt-- 32,000 gold (plus interest) in addition to a magic item Lucky was loaned, The Sword of Unrelenting Speed. Persephone revealed that Chip and Fearne, seemingly lost within the raucous of the night club, had been taken to a "comfortable" location to be held on collateral until the debt is repaid. Persephone reassured Lucky that she was "not a monster" and that they didn't have any plans of harming the two.
Sankara continued to scout the club in his feline form before meeting up with Gallogk (mid-existential crisis) and Bjorn (babysitter to Gallogk) at a private booth on the ground floor. Gallgok found himself wracked by visions of "wheels within wheels" and coming doom. One of the club girls, Esme, offered him an elixir to calm his emotions and center him a bit more.
Lucky reunited with the party and explained the situation. Decisions to be made... to rescue Chip and Fearne from the guild, to repay the debt with Doniathon's horde, or to venture in a new direction. However, discussions were clouded by a growing paranoia within the party that festered amongst our heroes. Is someone not who they say they are?
Gallogk cast Truesight-- a remarkable move which revealed nothing of worth about our heroes, but did elucidate much about the club owner, Chalkos. It would seem that beneath a humanoid form lay hidden Kupoira, the lost Copper Dragon of Order. Kupoira was last known to the party as the dragon who rescued Bim's former party from destruction at the hands of an aboleth Trial. Kupoira disappeared, seemingly to flee from the swift punishment that would have befallen him from Aurum, Gold Dragon of Order, for violating the sacred laws of The Sliver. Who he procured this human form and how he settled in Al-Khazahm is unknown and his true intentions are still clouded in uncertainty.
The session ended with our heroes being burnt in Sankara's moonbeam in a dark alleyway trying relieve their paranoia about someone not being who they say they are. Burnt and unrevealed, our heroes stood in the alley. Arcane banners throughout the city flickered to life as a figure of a young girl with the lower body of a mechanical spider sent a message from atop the pyramid of Al-Khazahm announcing that the nightly curfew had begun.
