The party journeys into the Water Temple of the Baba Yaga. After discovering, disarming, and sometimes enduring the many traps of the temple, they eventually make their way to the lower level where they meet Baba Yaga.
She strikes a deal with the party: flee, fight and win, or fight and lose (and become her undead companions forever). The party chooses to fight in an attempt to best her and lay claim to part of an artifact of great power. The prize in question is a fragment of a ring. When assembled, it provides a surge of great power for the wearer. They chose to fight and Baba Yaga transformed into a water dragon with poison and steam weapons.
Outstandingly, the party triumphs and is awarded the woven, silver band of a ring! Should the party endeavour to find the other two pieces, they must find the other two elemental temples somewhere in Eternum. Astutely, they have surmised that one temple lies somewhere on Mt. Valor (unfortunately also the lair of Valerion the White Dragon of Chaos).
The Baba Yaga is a multiplanar being whose motive in The Sliver appear to be her own. She appears disinterested in the conflicts of Eternum but has taken an interest in the party.
